A surf trip around the coast of Britain
The Plan
A few years ago, I spent several months living in a van, surfing my way round Britain. I started in the Hebrides and headed clockwise, ending in North Wales fourteen months later. For a map, click around here.

Do we want 'Jono has breakfast'? No. Do we want 'Jono makes friends with young girl'? No!
We want Jono going mano a mano with 20 foot rollers in sub-zero conditions, with a force 8 howling down his neck. Yes, we know it's effing freezing out there, but stop arsing about, get that wet suit on, and get out there!
Leave poor Jono alone.
Yeah - he's old, its cold, and should stay nice and snug in his woolly jumper eating poached duck eggs. Quite right.
Point taken. Sorry. Though they were exceptionally good poached eggs. And Juli's a sweetie. Though it's only fair to point out, he's a boy, not a girl. Quite obviously.
And I'm not old.
Hey! I used to go to Gullane often from Edinburgh - not IN the water obv, drinking on the beach....
